Great for mp3 playback Jan 25, 2010 I received my headphone amp a few day ago. I now hate to take off my headphones. I use cheap griffin ear-buds, but they sound incredible now. I always had issues with the lack of bass and high, but know I love them. The amp is smaller than I thought and very powerful. I listen to every thing from Rock, Rap, Country, and oldies. Everything Sounds 10 times better!! unlike every one else, I like that you unplug the headphone side and they automatically turn off. This is a great (cheap) buy. Worth every dime.
Great piece of electronics Jan 22, 2010 WOW I could not believe what this little bugger sounded like when I hooked it up and put my head phones on!! Great price, Great sound, The thing amazed me.I'm going to school for electronics and was going to make one of these. Now i'm glad I did'nt. Theres no way I could of done a better job. THANKS!!
Great size...and easy cure for battery drain Jan 06, 2010 I bought the E3 after reading a review in an audio magazine article for new cheap gadgets. I consider myself an audiophile and my job allows me to listen to music almost every waking hour. I wanted something to get more out of my iPod and something to boost my headphones performance. I was using Vmoda bass freq headphones until recently but switched to cheaper skullcandy set after hearing better midrange response-go figure. Well if you want to properly drive a good set or even a cheap set of headphones for your mp3 player the E3 is worth it. During heavy listening a battery may last me 6-10 days so it is a bit of a power hog. But realize using the E3 will have you cranking your mp3 players volume less which will save power there.
Now I have an easy fix for the no power switch issue. I keep a small rectangular sliver of thin card stock in the battery compartment. Any time I decide to not listen or if I have to be on a conference call I simply slide the cover off, slide the cardboard between the batterys + and the E3 terminal. I also do this during long periods of non-listening. Just pulling the headphone jack out of the E3 I found will still kill the battery over time if not in use.
fails to amplify Jan 01, 2010 I would not recommend this product as it fails to substantially make the audio signal louder. Simple, easy to use, but it doesn't amplify the signal much. It's maybe 2 decibels louder. Sigh.
